Parliament of Kyrgyzstan has passed the draft law on the regulation of the use of mobile devices schools

The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan has passed the draft law on the regulation of the use of mobile devices schools in the 3rd reading.

The draft law was developed to protect children and adolescents from the negative impact of mobile devices: worsened learning outcomes and risks in the field of cyberbullying, Vice Speaker Nurlanbek Azygaliev, authort of the draft law, said.

The objectives of the draft law are:

– regulating the use of mobile devices in the educational process and creating a safe, ethical learning environment;

– teaching digital literacy skills and the informed use of mobile devices and information technology;

– preparing the younger generation for the effective development of society, taking into account new challenges and technologies.

The regulation of the use of mobile phones by schoolchildren can be carried out by taking various measures on the part of schools, teachers and parents.
