The Parliamentary Dialogue Series is held quarterly. It brings together members of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank and IMF, along with experts from both institutions. They meet to discuss key development challenges and solutions.
This series gives parliamentarians a unique platform. They hear firsthand about the critical issues they face and learn practical strategies to address them.
In this edition, Members of Parliament (MPs) focused on gender equality. They received an overview of the global gender landscape. Additionally, World Bank experts shared insights based on a decade of data and experience. The goal is to shape a gender strategy that reflects urgency, complexity, and long-term impact.
About the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & IMF
The Parliamentary Network is a global platform. It brings together parliamentarians from over 140 countries. They advocate for accountability and transparency in global financial institutions.
Since its founding in 2000, the Network has worked with legislators worldwide. It helps them address development and economic challenges, both locally and globally.
An elected Board governs the Network. It operates independently as a non-governmental organization. The secretariat is based in Paris. Membership is free and open to all currently serving parliamentarians. Members act on behalf of their constituents—not governments or parliaments.
Looking Ahead: 2025 Global Parliamentary Forum
The Global Parliamentary Forum (GPF) is the Network’s flagship event. It takes place during the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The Forum is organized by the Parliamentary Network, WBG, and IMF. Each year, it gathers around 200 lawmakers from across the world.
They engage in dialogue with senior leadership from the WBG and IMF. Moreover, they exchange ideas with global development experts. This event strengthens international cooperation on urgent development priorities.
